From CP violation to beauty

Reports from just a few of this summer’s conferences

Summer is the time for many conferences in the field of particle physics. This year, the major conference of 2014 - the International Conference on High-Energy Physics - went to Spain in early July for the first time since the series began in 1950. A week later, the 50th anniversary of the discovery of CP violation was celebrated in a conference in London that looked at the current experiments in B physics as well as back to the original work with kaons. Following on from this, the focus on B physics moved to Edinburgh, with the Beauty 2014 conference.
