As of 3 June 2024, the Site and Civil Engineering (SCE) department are making a charging station for private electric vehicles available to the CERN community.

The dedicated area is located just before the Meyrin border crossing (on the Swiss side) and can be accessed via the Chemin de Berne. A CERN access card is required to enter. The electricity will be supplied by the Geneva utility provider, SIG. The charging cost will be borne by the user in accordance with the SIG terms and conditions and the SIG-Move pricing system (see prices). These spaces may only be used for charging purposes. No parking is allowed.

The creation of these six charging points is part of the SCE department’s overall action plan to provide the CERN community with sustainable transport options.
