Abstract:
"The algorithm called SIMPA is presented. It has a new and unique approach to long-term tracking of charged particles in arbitrary static electromagnetic fields. It is relevant to beam dynamics and optics studies whenever the usual hard-edge model cannot describe the accelerator elements accurately or the beamline contains complex magnetic or electric fields. Such a situation arises in the ELENA machine containing an electron cooler or in the extraction line.
Frequency analysis and dynamics aperture studies in ELENA along with ejection line studies are presented."
