On Thursday, 9 November 2023, CERN once again took part in the Futur en tous genres event. The aim of this initiative is to make schoolchildren aware of the diverse range of careers available to them and to encourage them to pursue their ambitions with confidence, free from gender stereotypes.

This year, 18 children aged 12 to 13 from Swiss schools had the opportunity to spend half a day in the company of CERN scientists. The programme included a visit to the cryogenics laboratory, a workshop on radiation protection, an introduction to jobs involving superconductivity and a guided tour of the ATLAS visitor centre. This half day, full of shared experiences, undoubtedly sparked the pupils' curiosity and, who knows, perhaps even paved the way for some future careers!
